Fuzzboy creator Alan Bessen follows a tradition of Bronx born Jewish cartoonists that includes Will Eisner, Harvey Kurtzman, and Jules Feiffer. He attended the School of Visual arts and studied under both Mr. Eisner and Mr. Kurtzman and their influence looms large over Fuzzboy. Although Alan has worked professionally doing a number of different things including illustrator, graphic artist, 3d modeler and teacher, cartooning has always been his first passion. In Fuzzboy he tries to utilize elements of traditional strip cartooning and recent innovations of autobiography, using Fuzzboy as an alter ego or reflection of real experiences and events.
